Ever thought about hiking and camping? And did someone say s’mores?! Come be part of the adventure—and help support the trails that connect us.

Join us for an evening with Gary French, co-owner of The Yoga Sanctuary, as he shares stories from his journey on the Appalachian Trail—2,000+ miles of rugged peaks, quiet forests, and life lived one step at a time. We’ll begin with an overview of what the AT is and what makes this iconic trail such a draw for hikers everywhere, then move into Gary’s personal experience: why he chose to take on this adventure and what he’s discovered along the way.

Throughout the talk, enjoy a photo slide show that brings the trail to life, plus a hands-on unpacking of his backpack, where Gary shares the nitty-gritty details: his gear, how he eats and sleeps on the trail, and what makes thousands of miles possible. Questions are welcome at any time—curiosity is part of the fun!

We will be outdoors fireside, enjoying s’mores and each other’s company. Think of it as time to settle in around the fire, share stories, ask more questions, and enjoy unhurried conversation in community. Although the event is listed as 90 minutes, we’ll linger as long as the questions and stories keep flowing. Please bring a chair to sit in, and anything to keep you comfortable while we explore the lure of the AT!

This is a donation-based event, and all contributions will support the Florida Trail Association, championing and preserving our own long-distance trail right here at home.

*Please bring something to sit in/on, and any other items that will help you be comfortable outside.*
