Born in Chicago, DaSilva hails from a musical family. His parents performed throughout Brazil and the Ukraine and Joel continues to channel their soulful energy in his performances to this day. He has played alongside artists that include Jimmie Vaughan, Buddy Guy, BB King, Jeff Beck, the Black Crowes, Los Lobos and many more.
