Our Punta Gorda Photo Group is an open, accepting camera and photography club. We have outings, photo exhibits, and camaraderie at our twice-monthly meetings at the Punta Gorda Library on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.
Members, please email show-and-tell images to Clyde Sweatt (ClydeSweatt@gmail.com), who will create a slideshow for our meetings. George Verity is our facilitator. We have a growing membership, and the next meeting is 1 pm on the Second Wednesday. Questions: 727.542.2566.
At this meeting, we will be displaying images for this month’s Theme: High and Low key Photography. Of course, you can submit other images you wish to show off. If you haven’t sent them to Clyde already, please do so as soon as possible. Please bring in some prints to show off as well!
Theme
Our theme for this month is High Key/Low Key photography. Here is a simple description defining each and why it is not underexposing or overexposing.
High-key is a stylistic choice about choosing bright subjects and soft lighting. Overexposure is simply letting too much light into the camera.
Low-key is a conscious choice to use dramatic shadows while keeping your subject beautifully lit.
Underexposure is simply a photo that is too dark across the board.
We will discuss how to edit High/Low Key images.
Exhibit
Please get your exhibit photos ready and bring them to the meeting. We have to have them all ready to hang after our next meeting and time has a way of sneaking up on us. America 250. We’ve agreed to allow one 16×20 framed photo and another smaller one. The frame style is your choice.
