Third Thursday is Back!

Join us Thursday, November 16th from 4 – 8 PM for Third Thursday. This month we’ll have a market located in both the Breezeway of Herald Court as well as on Taylor Street in front of Illusions Salon & Spa. Participating stores will be open with specials from 5-8pm. Enter to win a gift basket filled with items from all of the participating stores!

This Thursday, November 16th, we’ll be operating two “markets’ with a specific focus on the Holiday Season in both the Breezeway at Herald Court Centre and more on Taylor between Illusions Salon and Spa and Michael Saunders. We want to thank Julie Presseller for all her efforts in bringing new and exciting vendors to these monthly evening markets which will operate, with street lighting, from 4pm-8pm. All participating stores will remain open from 5pm-8pm and we’ll be adding each event as a Facebook Event for you to share and promote. We need a healthy crowd. Laughter begets laughter! As each participant alerts us of what is “special” in their store that night, it will be updated and uploaded to our Facebook sites.

Two causes are being focused on November 16th. The Society of St Vincent de Paul, who do so much for the needy in our community, have reached out to us with a call to action for supplies of hygiene products – namely toilet paper, deodorant, soap, cleaning products, toothpaste and brushes and shampoo. They will have a drop-off table in the breezeway of Herald Court Centre to accept your donations. If you are unable to be there that night, please drop off at the PG Chamber 252 W Marion Ave, and we’ll arrange to deliver your goods to St Vincent de Paul on your behalf. Anything large or small is appreciated.

The second cause is very close to my heart too. The Charlotte High School Silver King Marching Band has the opportunity to visit Tennessee to represent our area in a musical event early in 2024. Some of the students and their families are not in a position to afford the trip and may not be able to make it for that very reason. We want every child to get the chance to go! Together we can do this and send them on a trip of a lifetime. The regular band and the advanced band will be playing in the parking lot of Illusions Salon and Spa on Taylor, right next to our Taylor Market starting at 6pm. Please consider joining us and them and making a donation on site, or in any of the participating merchants. The Band Director will be the custodian of all funds raised and will direct discretely to those who need the lift the most.
I hope you’ll join me in seeing the need to support both causes and it plays on your heartstrings to donate generously to one or both.
That evening, the participating merchants have put together a gift basket of items from each and every one of them. To win this great basket, all you have to do is collect a “calling card” listing all the participating merchants at either their location or the info booth in the Breezeway at Herald Court. Get stamped as a visitor to 5 of the participating merchants. Drop off your card at the place you qualify (i.e. 5th location) and wait for the phone to ring to say you are the lucky winner! Simple as that. The locations currently are Punta Gorda Chocolate and Wine, The Refindery, Punta Gorda Coffee and Tea, Dream MedSpa and Salon, Pomegranate and Fig, Illusions Salon and Spa, J Meraki Beauty Emporium, HipNotique and Persnickety – others will be added. Pomegranate & Fig will be collecting baby items for our Baby Supply Drive. If you bring an item in with you, you will get a $5 coupon. They are collecting Baby diapers size 3-6, pull-ups any size, and baby wipes. The Refindery in Herald Court Centre will have a game to offer a 10% discount on any purchase. There’ll be a wine and craft beer tasting at Punta Gorda Chocolate and Wine or try a Hazelnut Mocha Frappe at Punta Gorda Coffee and Tea!
