Kirtan: Divine Chant with Vibha Kumar
February 12 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
KIRTAN is a melodious form of chanting, which is widely practiced in the yoga tradition. Join us in community as guest teacher Vibha Kumar leads us in the deeply devotional and joyful practice of Kirtan. Vibha is back from her long retreat in India, where she studied Bhakti yoga, or Yoga of Devotion, from the lineage of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, India, and Swami Satyananada Saraswati, his direct disciple and founder of the Bihar school of Yoga. Both yoga masters are living legends in the magical power of Kirtan.
In this special event, Vibha, supported by her voice and harmonium, will guide you in chant, helping you to travel deeper into the layers of your emotional body. This kirtan jam session will open the throat and heart chakras to help you feel a sense of freedom and weightlessness. Sing, chant, sway, dance, and move into your most divine expression of love. Come and experience this form of Bhakti yoga where one quickly transcends into higher awareness.
Open to all. No experience required!
