Subtle body practice focuses on deepening our capacity to sense and feel what is happening in the body, or what is known as “somatic awareness.” The practice deepens that awareness through non-forceful, slow-moving, sliding and gliding motions that create openings and releases throughout the body’s myofascial sheaths. All practice is done on the floor, allowing the support of gravity to make movement less effortful and more intuitive. Creating space in this non-aggressive way releases deeply held tension and fatigue and improves the body’s orientation to midline. In this workshop, we’ll learn about myofascial sheaths and practice subtle body movement, so that we can experience, sense and feel the deep effects of this practice in our own bodies and minds.
